Poetry Ex at Charing Cross Library

Six free poetry exploration sessions with Helen Bailey

A series of friendly and supportive fortnightly Friday morning sessions where you decide what we look at.

You can come to just one or two or all six - totally up to you.

Friday 22 March 11.00am to 12.00 noon

Friday 5 April 11.00am to 12.00 noon

Friday 19 April 11.00am to 12.00 noon

Friday 3 May 11.00am to 12.00 noon

Friday 17 May 11.00am to 12.00 noon

Friday 31 May 11.00am to 12.00 noon

You might want to try reading a poem out loud, or asking someone else to read; you might want some suggestions of new poets or venues, or to do some writing on a theme, or just talk about poetry - the choice is yours.

If you don't have any ideas yet, just come along and see what happens.

For new and experienced writers.

We are hoping to offer these as hybrid sessions, to include online participants as well as those onsite. More information will be available shortly.

If you are interested in joining us online, would like more information, or would like to send ideas in advance please email me hbailey3@westminster.gov.uk

We regret there is no wheelchair or ramp access in this library, there are 3 steps and a handrail at the entrance. The event will take place on the 2nd floor which is accessed via a double staircase (46 steps in total) with handrails. Registered assistance dogs are welcome.

If you have any questions about access, please contact us. hbailey3@westminster.gov.uk

“A good poem is a contribution to reality. The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it. A good poem helps to change the shape of the universe, helps to extend everyone’s knowledge of himself and the world around him.”

Dylan Thomas
